Our Areas of Practice
I am a specialist in Family law matters including Adoption, Parenting, Family and Domestic Violence, Relocation, Paternity, Guardianship, Child Youth and Family (CYFS) matters. I am also an approved FLAS- Family Legal Advice Service providers.
I also practice in the areas of Minor Criminal law matters, Church Constitution and Governance Training of non- profitable organisations and general practitioner work.
My practice extends to providing general legal advice to community not for profit groups or non- government organisations, including drafting, review of contracts, quality and compliance, establishing a legal entity/structure, governance training and legal opinions.
I have legal networks across Auckland and am able to provide excellent referrals to the right legal experts if your matter is outside my area of practice, including in the areas of conveyancing and property, refinance.

Sao Timaloa has ten years experience and has been a Barrister Sole since 2012. Prior to being a barrister Sao worked for Joyce Spence Teei, Mangere Community law office, and Nicole Walker, Barrister.
Sao specialises mainly in the area of Family law matters. Sao also do some general practitioner work for an example, minor criminal matters, employment matters and issues relating to minor civil claims. Sao also works with Community and Non- Government Organisation’s and churches as a consultant providing general legal advice and training workshops.
Prior to being a lawyer, Sao worked in the Auckland High Court and later Auckland District Court for over sixteen years. She is proactive in many community initiatives, and a board member of several community boards, including the Board of trustees for Lifewise, the Mangere Community Law Centre, and Pasifika Health Social Services (PHSS). Sao also previously served as a trustee on the Samoan Congregational Church of Grey Lynn for more than 20 years and the Mata'aga Aoga Amata (Preschool) for 3 years.
Sao is a fluent speaker of the Samoan language. She is passionate about helping people and providing the best legal advice and representation for her clients.
Our Fees
I act for clients in a private capacity and have reasonable rates. I can also act for clients that are eligible for legal aid in Family Court matters and can assist clients to make legal aid applications.
All District Courts
I act for clients across Auckland in all Districts Courts including Waitakere, Auckland, North Shore, Manukau, Papakura and Pukekohe. We can also act for clients outside Auckland and those clients based overseas with legal matters within the New Zealand jurisdiction.
My office is located at 300 Richmond Road, Grey Lynn however, I am able to travel to meet clients in necessary.
